It’s important to note though that Reon shouldn’t be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.

Why is caffeine used in foods and drinks?
Caffeine occurs naturally in many foods and drinks, such as coffee, tea and cocoa beans. It is also used to enhance the flavour of some manufactured foods and carbonated drinks, adding a slightly bitter taste. Caffeine is also added to various food supplements and energy drinks for its alerting and energising properties.

Is caffeine safe?
Regular consumption of caffeine is considered safe and as with anything, moderation is advised. The daily upper limits for caffeine consumption are under regular review by the European Commission and the Food Standards Agency. The European Food Information Council defines safe and moderate daily consumption limits as up to 300mg of caffeine a day.

Does Reon Energy Powder contain sugar?
There’s no sugar in Reon. As part of the flavouring, Reon Energy Powder uses a sweetener called steviol glyocosides, which is derived from leaves. Unlike other sugar substitutes, stevia derives from a plant. It is extracted from leaves and has no calories. All in all, each sachet of Reon contains just 3 calories. For more information, see International Sweeteners Association.

Does Reon cause an energy crash?
Reon contains no simple sugars, so it doesn’t cause the potential spike and drop in insulin levels. This lowers the risk of the energy or sugar ‘crash’ effect you get with many sugar-rich energy drinks and foods.

Can I use caffeine before or during sports and exercise?
Taken in sufficient quantities, caffeine can increase endurance and physical performance. Professional athletes can use caffeine as it is not a banned substance by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). Scientific studies have shown that it does not promote dehydration or an imbalance in electrolytes. However, if you do sports, always stay well hydrated.
